“The more you have, the more you want” – and the era of ambition fulfilled this idea. It was an era of: “I want and I will.”
The customer was king and money was not an issue; advertising stoked the purchasing desires, choice was available and the sales professional answered the call.
The sales professional was no longer just a travelling ambassador; increasingly, sales professionals were using technology – the Call Centre was the new opportunity to sell to the voracious demands of the market.
This called for new sales skills which were willingly adopted by a new breed of sophisticated sales professionals.
